In the first year, health officials recorded 292 abortions. The number sored to over one thousand in 2023. 928 abortions have been recorded this year. The public health department says most of the abortions are for women between 25 and 35 years of age. They say only a tenth were for teenagers. Since decriminalization, the procedures are in more sanitary and safe conditions. They are performed with oral pills, with follow-up exams for the next few days.
