The California Highway Patrol is investigating two accidents that resulted in deaths.

On Monday, August 5, at about 9:35 a.m., a 37-year-old man was riding a Harley David's motorcycle westbound on Interstate 8 when Ford F-450 also westbound on I-8 apparently failed to see the motorcycle and ran into the bike. The motorcycle rider sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of the truck, 51-year-old Daniel Rene Marquez, of San Luis, Arizona, was not injured. 

On Wednesday, August 7, a 55-year-old El Centro woman was driving a small SUV southbound on La Brucherie Road approaching Wahl Road. At the same time, an International truck tractor with trailer was westbound on Wahl Road. The SUV and the truck tractor entered the intersection and collided. The El Centro woman sustained major injuries and was air lifted to Desert Regional Medical Center where she succumbed from her injuries. 

Both accidents remain under investigation.
