(CBP seizes Meth and Cocaine in one haul)....It happened at the Tecate Commercial Facility recently.

The narcotics were concealed in hollowed out cellophane packages. Officers encountered a 56 year old man driving a box truck, with a shipment manifested as resin shelves. The CBP officer referred the truck and the driver to the secondary inspection area. Officers noticed irregularities and a non-intrusive inspection was conducted on the truck and its shipment. A CBP k-9 enforcement team alerted to the truck, as well. Officers found 66 packages concealed in a compartment inside the shelves. 61 of the packages contained methamphetamine and weighing over 1, 138 pounds. The remaining five packages contained 24.69 pounds of cocaine. The estimated street value of the narcotics was set at over $2,012. The driver was detained and turned over to Homeland Security Investigations. CBP seized the truck and the narcotics. The seizure was part of Operation Apollo.
