An El Centro woman, suspicious about a check, avoided a scam.

The woman told El Centro Police that she applied online for a job and received an offer of employment from an energy drink company. The company sent the woman a check and she felt uneasy about the check and talked with her bank before depositing the check. The bank told her the check was fraudulent and stopped the transaction thereby saving the woman from a scam.
