The County Board of Supervisors has made money available for Niland residents affected by the September 1, 2023, storm.

The Board approved a $50,000 allocation from the County's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The money will be available to Niland residents who were hard hit by the storm. The money comes from the federal government and is available since the U.S. Treasury Department expanded usage guidelines for ARPA funding to cover emergency relief from natural disasters. The Niland Chamber of Commerce will be in charge of disbursing the funds.
