Now that Fall has arrived and the weather has changed, there are all sorts of social events in the Imperial Valley.
This weekend starts on Thursday night when the Imperial Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce presents " A Night in Hollywood". The Chambers annual awards dinner. The event will be held at the Pioneers' Museum starting at 6 PM.
On Friday, the Pioneer' Museum presents their Friday Night Lecture. The Honorable Judge Christopher Plourd will talk about 100 Years of the Imperial County Courthouse at 6:30 PM. The lecture is free, but donations would be appreciated.
Friday night is also the City Championship football game between Central and Southwest High Schools. The kickoff at Eagle Field is scheduled for 7 PM and proceeding the kickoff will be the Autism Support of Imperil County Tunnel Run featuring ICOE and Special Ed students from Central and Southwest running through the tunnel onto the field.
On Saturday it's Last Call, a beer tasting fundraiser for RAIZES, an organization that focuses on closing the gap in health and environmental wellness inequities in Imperial County. The event takes place at Hot Rods and Beer in Holtville starting at 6 PM.
