San Diego U.S. Border Patrol and their Mexican counterparts have agreed to intensified binational cooperation.

Agencies on both sides of the international boundary will address the issue of increased human smuggling through the San Diego/Tijuana border region. The San Diego Section U.S. Border Patrol, Instituto Nacional de Immigration, Guardia Nacional, and Secretario de La Defensa Nacional are ramping up mirrored efforts on both the south and north sides of the border, dedicating additional resources toward information sharing efforts. The operations will target smugglers who exploit vulnerable individuals seeking illegal entry into the United States, disrupt bandit activity, and assist with stemming the flow of migrants into the U.S.
