A 63-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a collision early Tuesday morning.

Yuma County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the accident in the 12-600 block of S. Somerton Avenue at about 4:50 a.m.  A Ford F-150 and a semi-truck collided when the big rig pulled out of a private driveway into the path of the pickup. The driver of the pickup sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a Phoenix area hospital. A passenger in the pickup was treated for minor injuries. The driver of the big rig was not injured. The accident remains under investigation.
