More than $17 million worth of narcotics were seized by San Diego Field Office U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers in May.

A total of more than 7,850 pounds of drugs were taken off the streets. CBP officers seized nearly 6,300 pounds of methamphetamine, over 1,200 pounds of cocaine, 256 pounds of fentanyl and 33 pounds of heroin at the Southern California border crossings. One of the largest finds occurred on May 29 at the Calexico East Cargo Facility where a tractor-trailer was found to have over 245 pounds of cocaine hidden inside the air tanks of the big rig.
