A man is in jail after he was found slumped over the steering wheel of his car.
At about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, El Centro police responded to a car wash on North Imperial Avenue after receiving a report of a driver, apparently under the influence of drugs or alcohol, slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle with the engine running and in gear. Initially the driver refused commands to get out of the car and when officers approached he attempted to conceal something from officers. As the driver was removed from the car he threw a glass pipe on the ground. The suspect, a 39-year-old man, was arrested and booked at Imperial County Jail on various drug charges as well as Destroying Evidence.
