(Celebrating Mexico's Independence)....It is this weekend.

In Mexico it is a two day celebration. The party starts Friday in Mexicali in the Centro Civico. At mid-night, The Grito de Independencia is delivered. TRhat is a replical of Father Miguel Hidalgo's call to arms beginning Mexico's fight for Independence. Independence Day in Mexico is September 16. On The 16th, the Grito will be celebrated at San Diego State University Imperial Valley Campus in Calexico. They will host the 2023 Mexican Independence Day Celebration in Imperial Valley. A Big part of the celebration will be the Mariachi Sin Fronteras Festival. The Festival will feature Folkloric Sunshine, Mariachi Amanecer, grupo Norteno Corona, and Mariachi Aurora De Calexico. There will be beer, Food, craft vendors and more. It is free at the SDSU, IV Campus. It starts at 7 pm Saturday
