El Centro Fire Department battled a fire with assistance from several other local agencies.

The fire was reported at about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Commercial Avenue. An industrial building was fully involved in flames when the first fire engines arrived. All available El Centro firefighters were called out to assist in battling the blaze and a second alarm was issued for assistance from other local fire departments. Firefighters were able to use an aerial ladder truck to pour water on the fire from high above the flames. Firefighters remained on the scene for several hours to assure the fire was extinguished.
