(EC Fire Department announces a collision)...It happened Tuesday afternoon.
At around 2:45 pm, the El Centro Fire Department responded to a Mutual Aid request from the Imperial County Fire Department. The request was to assist with a semi-truck fire at the intersection of Highway 111 and Worthington Road. They dispatched one Fire Engine and a Battalion Chief to the scene. At 2:50 pm, while enroute to the fire incident, the El Centro Paramedic Engine 32 was involved in a traffic collision with a semi-truck at the intersection of Highway 111 and Evan Hewes Highway. None of the fire personnel were injured. The paramedics on the engine did provide immediate care to the semi truck driver. The California Highway Patrol and the AMR Ambulance Service responded to the scene. The collision is under investigation.
