Land for the construction of a lithium battery factory has been located.

According to Statevolt, approximately 135 acres of land has been purchased near the Salton Sea in Imperial County. Statevolt will build the lithium battery factory with an annual capacity of building batters for approximately 650,000 electric vehicles when at fully built out. Statevolt has a Memorandum of Understanding with Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) that will see CTR extract lithium from geothermal resources near the Salton Sea. No date has been announced for the start or completion of the factory construction.
