(County Board of Supervisors)...They hold their weekly meeting Tuesday.

(The General Election is Tuesday)...Technically it is the last day to cast a ballot. Voting has been ongoing for several weeks. Vote By Mail voting started in October. Tuesday is in person voting and Vote By Mail Ballots must be post marked no later than November 3rd. They can be received up to 7 days after election day. With the state and federal issues on the ballot, turn out is expected to be very high. Counting will start once the polls close at 8:00 pm Tuesday. An official count is not expected to be complete for two weeks or longer after the polls close. The Elections Department has a month to canvass the ballots and certify the count. Scholl Districts and special districts will take up most of the ballots, with City Council races in Brawley, Calexico, Calipatria, El Centro, Holtville, Imperial and Westmorland. Calexico Unified School District will also have a $47 million School Bond Measure Q on the ballot.

(Two Fatal injury collisions)...They both occurred in the Glamis Sand Dunes are. Both occurred Friday. One at around 5:30 in the evening. The other at close to 8:00 pm. The California Highway Patrol says in the first incident, a 32 year old Arizona man was riding a 2020 Can-Am Maverick X3 UTV at an undetermined rate of speed near Gecko Road, south of Highway 78. The driver apparently lost control of the UTV and it overturned several times. Thye driver suffered fatal blunt force trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second incident involved a 40 year old from Oceanside, California. He was driving a 2016 Yamaha  YXZ 100R. While in tow in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area. The CHP says the driver was unrestrained and not wearing a helmet. The 40 year old made an unsafe turning motion which caused the Yamaha to overturn. The driver was ejected and the Yamaha landed on top of him. The man suffered fatal injuries. Both collisions remain under investigation. Identities have not been released.

Local health care officials are looking at the Alternate Care Site ( ACS ) at the Imperial Valley College gym.

Caltrans says the Interstate 8 / Imperial Avenue Interchange Project is on track and ahead of schedule.

Even though the Brawley Chamber of Commerce said no the Westmorland , Imperial and El Centro Chambers have agreed to explore the opportunity to form a Regional Chamber of Commerce.
