Sergio Romo will retire from Major League Baseball as a San Francisco Giant.

The Giants signed Romo to a minor league contract with an invitation to the major league camp saying that the Brawley native will retire at the Giants pre-season game on March 27, 2023 in San Francisco. Romo was originally drafted by the Giants and was an important part of the Giants World Series runs in 2010, 2012 and 2014. He played for 8 different clubs during his 15-year major league career. The 40-year-old Romo says he plans to spend more time with his 5 sons.
