El Centro police are investigating a stabbing incident reported early Tuesday morning.
Police were notified of the crime shortly after 1:00 a.m. Tuesday when staff at El Centro Regional Medical Center reported that they were treating a man with a stab wound. Police questioned the victim, a 32-year-old Imperial man, had been stabbed in the groin area about an hour earlier. He told investigating officers that he had been in a confrontation with another man at a local convenience store when he was stabbed. The victim was uncooperative with officers and refused to give many details. Police are reviewing surveillance video from the store.
