An Imperial County Task Force has returned from the Fairview Fire.

On Wednesday, September 7, 2022, the Task Force was deployed to the wildfire burning near Hemet. The Task Force was made up of firefighters and equipment from the Cities of El Centro, Holtville, Calipatria, Torrence and Yuma.  There were five fire engines and one Task Force leader in a command vehicle. Each engine had a crew of four. The fire claimed two lives and a number of structures and continues to burn. Tropical storm Kay aided fire fighter efforts by dropping some moisture and reducing temperatures. The Task Force arrived back in the Valley late Monday afternoon.
