Ther appears to be a new scam appearing in the area.

An El Centro man reported that he had been contacted by someone who identified themselves as representing Spectrum cable. The man gave the alleged Spectrum employee personal information after he was told that he was being registered for free cable. The 63-year-old man then contacted Spectrum and was told that they did not send anyone there. El Centro Police remind citizens to be cautious about giving out personal information to anyone.
