(Laura Fischer will not be renewing her contract)...Fischer is the General Manager of the Heber Public Utilitiy District.
The HPUD Board of Directors have released a statement. The statement says Fischer has decided not to renew her contract as the General Manager of the District. Her current contract expires at the end of December. Fischer has held the position for the past ten years. During her tenure, the District Board says the District expanded its water and sewer capacity, which allows the community to welcome new homes and commercial development. They said under Fischer's direction, the District also expanded its Parks and Recreation functions, including the highly popular Fall Fiesta on the last Saturday in October. The Fiesta includes a parade, free carnival games, car show and the haunted maze. The District said under Fischer's leadership, HPUD has enjoyed balanced budgets, excellent service and community support. They said her efforts are much appreciated and she will be missed. The District is currently actively seeking a new General manager.
