(Border Patrol arrests previously deported individuals)...The two convicted sex offenders were arrested in two days.

The first incident occured Sunday afternoon. Border Patrol agents in Calexico encountered six individuals who had entered the US illegally through the Imperial Sand Dunes east of Calexico. A records check revealed one of the individuals, a 34 year old male Mexican National had been previously convicted for a sexual offense and had previously been deported back to Mexico. The second arrest came Monday morning. El Centro agents encountered two individuals who had entered the US illegally in the Jacumba Wilderness Region. They were found about 3 miles North of the US/Mexico border. A records check revealed one of the individuals had been convicted of a sex offense and had been sentenced to jail. He had also been ordered deported by an Immigration Judge. Since October, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents have arrested and/or removed 21 individuals either convicted or wanted on sexual offense charges.
