El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents were working in the Indio area recently. They stopped a car near Golf Center Parkway. A Border Patrol k-9 Detection team alerted to the vehicle. A search of the interior of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 2 gym bags that contained 26 packages. 19 of the packages tested positive for methamphetamine. The meth weighed 46.7 pounds with an estimated value of over $126,600. The other 7 packages contained 18 pounds of Fentanyl, with an estimated value of over $268,200. The driver of the vehicle, a 20 year old US citizen, the narcotics and vehicle were turned over to the Riverside County Sheriff's office.
