The counting of votes from the June 7, 2022 Primary Election is getting closer to the end.

The Imperial County Registrar of Voters updated reults late Tuesday afternoon. While there are still over 4,000 ballots to be tabulated the races are becoming a bit more clear. 

Board of Supervisors 1st District shows Jesus Eduardo Escobar apparently avoiding a November runoff with 53.55% of the vote.

Board of Supervisors 5th District will apparently carry over to November. John Hawk has 46.59% of the vote while Raymond Castillo has 34.47% and Carlos Zaragoza with18.94%.

Imperial Irrigation District Division 1 shows Alex Cardenas with 1,651 votes and Andrew Arrival with 1,593.

Imperial Irrigation District Division 3 will apparently be settled in November. Gina Dockstader has 39.90% of the votes counted. Ramon Castro has 22.99% and Don Campbell 22.36% and Maria Nava-Froelich 14.75%

Imperial Irrigation District Division 5 has Karin Eugenio leading Norma Sierra Galindo 1,629 votes to 1,482.

Superior Curt Judge Jeffrey Jones leads Kevin T. Merizalde Kelly 10,045 to 4,489.

County Assessor Robert Menveille has 7,589 votes to Ricardo Avila's 6,989.

Clerk-Recorder Chuck Storey has 8,906 votes with Jaco Nicholas Rodriguez 5,558.

Sheriff-Coroner race has Fred Miramontes with 10,831 votes to Hilton Smit's 3,773.
