Two moderate earthquakes rocked the Imperial Valley Tuesday afternoon.

The first was recorded at 1:23 p.m. and measured magnitude 3.6. The second, sharper quake was a magnitude 3.9 and was recorded by the Southern California Earthquake Data Center at 1:30 p.m. Epicenter for both earthquakes was about 4 miles south of Brawley.
