The U.S. Geological Survey recorded two small earthquakes just south of the border.

The first, a magnitude 3.0, was recorded at 3:22 p.m. followed by a magnitude 3.5 shaker at 3:35 p.m. The Monday afternoon temblors had an epicenter 18 to 19 miles Southeast of Mexicali, Baja California. Ther were no reports of injuries or damage.
