An SUV and a burro collided early Monday morning.

The accident was reported at about 4:53 a.m. Monday on State Route 78 near Stallard Road. The driver of the SUV was not injured. The Burro was not so lucky. Wild burros are numerous in the desert along Highway 78 that runs parallel to the Colorado River. The burros are descendants of burros that were used by prospectors looking for gold in the area.
