(Unemployment down in Imperial County)...The latest report is for March.
Unemployment estimates are released by the Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department. The jobless rate in March for Imperial County was at 12.3 %, down from a revised rate of 14.1% in February, and below the year ago estimate of 17.2%. This compares with an unadjusted unemployment rate of 4.3% for California and a 3.8% for the nation during the same period. According to the March report, there were 8,700 eligible workers unemployed out of a Labor Force of 70,300. Imperial County is still ranked at 57th out of the 58 California Counties.
