Brawley First United Methodist Church will celebrate 118 years.

On Sunday, April 10, 2022, there will be a special celebration to mark the occasion. According to Pastor Nelly D. Schettler, the First United Methodist Church of Brawley was officially organized on April 4, 1904, with 34 charter members. The first building was at 5th and H Streets in 1908. In 1949, the cornerstone was laid at the present location, 133 K Street. The building was consecrated and dedicated in November of 1953. At the 11:00 a.m. service on Sunday there will a short program followed by a time f food and fellowship.
