Two separate accidents resulted in closures of eastbound Interstate 8 near Mt. Springs Road.

At about 8:25 Tuesday morning a big rig caught fire and resulted in one lane of the freeway being shut down for over an hour. At about 11:15 a.m. another big rig, also eastbound on Interstate 8, flipped over on it's side spilling a load of plywood. Both eastbound lanes were shut down for approximately 4 hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage and debris. There were no injuries reported in either accident.
