Police are investigating a hit and run accident that occurred Thursday evening in El Centro.

The accident was reporter at about 7:50 p.m. in the 1000 block of Vine. A grey Dodge Avenger struck a parked car and then rolled over. The driver got out of the car and was last seen in the area of 12th and Vine. El Centro police contacted El Centro Regional Medical Center to see if anyone had come into the hospital with injuries associated with the accident. The hospital confirmed that a man matching the description of the suspect driver had just walked into the Emergency Department with an apparent head injury. Police were able to confirm that the man was the driver that had fled the scene of the accident. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
