The US Geological Survey said the small swarm began after 9:00 pm Thursday night and continued until just before 5 Friday morning. The largest temblor was a magnitude 3.0 that was recorded at 1:44 Friday morning. All the quakes were centered about 4 miles west of Holtville. The rest were micro-quakes measuring less than magnitude 2.9. There was no damage or injury reported.
