(Highway 98 closed briefly)...It was to allow fire crews access to a brush fire.

The fire was reported off Highway 98, near Bornt Road Monday evening. The County Fire Department responded to the two alarm fire. El Centro and Holtville Fire departments were called in to assist. Four engines on scene had the fire extinguished rather quickly. Fire fighters found at power pole on fire  when they arrived. That pole fire caused a power outage to around 314 IID customers. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
