(Traffic blocked for a short period)....It happened at just after 9:00 Thursday morning.

An SUV caught fire on Westbound Interstate 8, at the Imperial Highway Off-ramp. The number 2 lane was blocked for a few minutes as attempts to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher. County Fire arrived at the scene and quickly finished to effort to put out the fire. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. They have not reported any injuries as a result of the incident
