An El Centro resident reported that the catalytic convertor was taken from her car.
According to El Centro police, an unknown suspect took the catalytic convertor from q 2007 Toyota Pruis. The thief might be able to get $50 to $100 for the convertor but the cost to replace the equipment is anywhere from $1,00 to $2,000. The vehicle remains inoperative until the catalytic convertor is replaced.
Later Wednesday morning a local repair business reported that someone broke into the business and that several vehicles had their catalytic convertors damaged. A vehicle battery was taken and an estimated $100.00 worth of damage was done to a fence.
