(Sage Project in Imperial Valley).....The San Diego State project is part of the Universities expansion in Imperial Valley.

The San Diego State University Sage Project is partnering with the City of El Centro to address the Homeless situation. El Centro City Council member Cheryl Viegas Walker represents El Centro in the project. SDSU Imperial Valley Interim Chief Administrative/Academic Officer and Dean Mark Wheeler says Homelessness is an urgent global, national and local challenge for public policymakers. Under the Sage Project, SDSU students will work with the city to developm solutions and create awareness to the issue. El Centro chose Homelessness as the local issue for the project. The Sage Project is a course offered to match the theme with faculty members who are willing to incorporate it into existing SDSU courses. Participating students get to do the hands-on, real world projects that can lead to real solutions.
