(Motorists be aware)....Severe weather is being reported in the San Diego County Mountains.

The National Weather Service says there is currently a High Wind Warning in effect in the Mountains, between the Imperial/San Diego County line, across the mountains into Alpine. Winds in the mountains are gusting between 30 and 40 miles per hour. The Weather Service says late this afternoon, a Winter Storm Warning goes into effect. Heavy snow is expected, with difficult travel conditions. Snow accumulations expected between 6 and 12 inches in most areas and up to 18 inches in the higher elevations. Motorists are being advised to be prepared for significant reductions in visibility at times.
