Firefighters were kept busy with several brush fires Monday.

One fire was reported in the area of Kalin and Sinclair Roads near Calipatria. Another, a short time later in the area near Highways 78 and 111 in the Brawley area. The biggest was reported early in the afternoon in the river bottom near Wormwood and Dearborn Roads and resulted in a three-alarm response. Imperial County Fire Department and Office of Emergency Services said the fire was pretty much confines to about 50 acres. The wind driven fire kept fire fighters busy through the night.
