A multi-alarm fire extensively damaged an Imperial House.

The City of Imperial Fire Department responded to the report of smoke and flames coming from a house in the 200 block of Mazatlan Street at about 2:00 p.m. Thursday. The first firefighters on the scene initiated a second alarm for mutual aid and began evacuating residents of neighboring homes. No injuries were reported. Personnel and equipment from the City of El Centro and Imperial County resigned to the fire. Cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
