(The IID hosted 3 public workshops)...They all dealt with the Time Of Use Rate proposal.
One of the workshops was held in La Quinta on January 11th. The other two were held in El Centro on February 1st and February 15. At all three workshops the discussion was on the potential of a Time Of Use rate structure for Imperial Irrigation District energy customers. The IID does not currently have a TOU rate. The Board of Directors have not taken any action on the proposal. A Time Of Use structure could establish electricity rates according to time of day, season and date, encouraging customers to move their peak energy use to a timeframe when more energy is available and is less expensive, providing cost savings options to customers. The topic remains in the discussion stage and public participation and feedback is encouraged. Those who could not attend any of the workshops, and are interested in the topic, can find the recorded workshops on the IID website
