A section of Orchard Road was blocked following an early Saturday morning accident

A pickup truck smashed into a utility pole in the area of Havens and Orchard Roads at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday. The utility pole was knocked down and power lines power lines were left dangling. Imperial Irrigation District crews responded to repair the damage but Orchard Road was blocked for a time and then traffic limited to one lane each direction until repairs were completed. No one was injured in the accident.
