(Border Patrol rescues two over the weekend)....Both were in the Jacumba Wilderness region near Ocotillo.

The first incident was reported Friday afternoon. El Centro Sector Border Patrol responded to a call of an individual who was lost, with little water, no food and seeking assistance. Agents responded to the last known GPS provided. They located the individual about 3 miles north of the US/Mexico border. The second call came in Sunday evening. A lost individual had reportedly cut their eye and injured an arm. This individual was located about 3 miles north of the US/Mexico border. It was determined both individuals did not need medical attention. Both were found to be Mexican Nationals who were in the US illegally. They were taken to the El Centro Center for processing. Since October, El Centro Border Patrol agents have rescued 101 individuals who were lost, in distress or abandoned by smugglers.
