(COVID 19 cases down)...Updated COVID numbers were released Tuesday Morning.

The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 are down by 1,090, compared to numbers released last week. The current number of active COVID cases in Imperial County are now at 2,120. Deaths attributed to the virus have increased. COVID related deaths are now at 852, compared to 845 reported a week ago. COVID 19 positive cases hospitalized are at 94. 24 of them are in Intensive Care. There are currently 2 ICU beds available in the county. 46 ventilators are in use. According to the new numbers, there have now been 118 Omicron Variant cases reported in Imperial County. Delta variant cases reported locally since 2020 are now at 1,170. State metrics for Imperial County indicate a positivity rate, 7 day average of 34.7%. The new cases per day per 100,000 population are at 180.80. Total vaccine doses administered in the county are are at close to 397,000.
