(Two arrested)...They were caught trying to smuggle Methamphetamine.

It happened at the Highway 86 checkpoint early Monday morning. Border Patrol agents working the checkpoint sent a black Mercedes to the secondary inspection area. A K-9 Detection team alerted to the trunk of the vehicle. Agents searched the area and found a speaker box. Inside the speaker box they found several vacuum sealed packages. the contents tested positive for methamphetamine. The packages weighed in at 33.4 pounds and the value was estimated at almost $39,000. The 29 year old male driver and 28 year old female passenger, both US citizens, the vehicle and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
