(COVID Numbers continue to surge)....The latest numbers were released Tuesday Morning.

The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. According to the new numbers, active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County are at 4,290, up from 3,926 reported last week. Deaths attributed to the virus are now at 845, up from 829 previously reported. There are 102 COVID positive patients hospitalized in the county. 29 of those are in Intensive Care. There are 2 ICU beds available in the county. The Health Department says 46 ventilators are in use at the two local hospitals. 41 cases of the Omicron variant have been reported. The predominent variant is still the Delta variant. State metrics for Imperial County positivity rate, 7 day average is at 41.2%. The new cases per day per 100,000 population is at 264. Total doses of vaccine administered in Imperial County is now over 388,600.
