(Two Fatalities Sunday)...They happened in separate incidents.

Late Sunday afternoon 19 year old Payton Smith of Alpine suffered fatal injuries after the motorcycle he was riding in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation area south of Osbourne Road went out of control, ejecting the rider. Sunday night a head-on collision was reported on Highway 98, east of Imperial Highway. A Honda Civic driven by a Calexico resident collided with a Yamaha Motorcycle. The motorcycle rider, Richard Orman, suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Honda has not been identified. The California Highway Patrol is investigating both collisions.
