(COVID 19 update) ....New numbers were released Tuesday morning.

The numbers are provided by the County Public Health Department. The latest numbers indicate there are currently 729 active cases of COVID 19 in Imperial County. That is up from the 660 cases reported previously. The number of deaths attributed to the virus in Imperial County is now at 798, as compared to 792 reported last week. COVID positive patient hospitalizations are now at 67, 27 of those are in Intensive care. The COVID Variant of concern in Imperial County is still the Delta Variant, with 940 cases of the variant reported in Imperial County since it was first encountered in December 2020. There are zero cases of the Omicron Variant reported in Imperial County so far. The latest State Metrics for Imperial County indicate the positivity rate, 7-day average at 16.1%. The New Cases per day per 100,000 population is now at 37.30. The total doses of vaccinations in Imperial County are now at 344,500.
