(Another long weekend ahead)....Some will be taking a four day weekend.

The County non-emergency offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. The City Halls in Brawley and El Centro will also be closed Thursday and Friday. The Imperial Irrigation Offices will be closed Friday, but crews will be available to respond to emergencies. State and Federal Businesses will be closed Friday. Commercial establishments will vary, but most will be open for at least a few hours over the New Year's weekend. The California Highway Patrol will go into their Maximum Enforcement Period at 6:01 Friday evening and will continue through 11:59 Sunday night. New Year's is considered a drinking holiday, so all law enforcement agencies will be on the look out for impaired or distracted drivers. They strongly recommend the use of designated drivers if you party this weekend. Never drink and drive.
