A fire was reported under the Ocean to Ocean Bridge Wednesday.

The City of Yuma Fire Department responded the area at about 5:20 p.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from underneath the south end of the bridge. Yuma Police officers closed the bridge to traffic while firefighters knocked down the blaze. According to Yuma Fire, the fire originated in a large pile of trash accumulated by transients illegally camping under the bridge. No injuries were reported and damage was limited to some electrical wiring under the structure.
