(Tis the season, in Imperial)...The City of Imperial has two events scheduled this weekend.
Both events are traditions in the City and for the rest of the county, as well. Both events were canceled last year because of the pandemic. Assistant City Manager Alexis Brown says theu are both back and will be bigger and better than ever. It all starts Friday evening with the traditional Parade of Lights. The Parade route is straight up Imperial Avenue, from South to North. 73 units have entered the parade. They will have the Imperial High School Marching Band, horses, dancers and lots of Mexican Food. The Parade starts at 6:00 pm Friday. Saturday it will be Christmas In A Small Town. Not only a popular event in the City of Imperial, but residents from across the county look forward to the event. It will run from 3 pm until 9 pm in Downtown Imperial. There will be photos with Santa, custom Christmas Crafts from local vendors, live entertainment, including Stilletto, a rock tribute band. There will be beer, artisan eats, fresh produce and the ever popular Julian pies and Dudley's bread. There will be 5 tons of snow to allow for tobagoning and a lot more.
