(Methamphetamine seized)....It happened late last week.

El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents were working the Highway 86 Checkpoint. A black 2008 Kia drove up to the checkpoint, and was sent to the secondary inspection area. A Border Patrol K-9 Detection Team alerted to the rear of the vehicle. Agents inspected the area and found eight bundles wrapped in shiny aluminum tape. The budles were found in the rear cargo compartment of the vehicle. The contents tested positive for methamphetamine. The bundles weighed 69.1 pounds. The meth was valued at $172,750. The 20 year old driver, a US citizen, the vehicle and narcotics were all turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
